Tamugi's Book. 2006 The artist spent about three weeks in the village. Together with the villagers he made blank books with no writing inside, placed them in an old storehouse and created a library. Visitors and the villagers would write down the memories of the community or their journeys in the books. "What touched my heart the most while visiting Tsumari were the places I have visited and the friendly feelings of people toward others. Sometimes it could take time for events to heap up and become filled with friendly feelings," said the artist. It became precisely a work for meeting the memories and footsteps of people accumulated over time.
