Rula Halawani is Palestinian and lives in Jerusalem. Formerly a press photographer, she now devotes herself completely to documentary and art photography. She uses shots of everyday events in a highly personal way, which she then digitally processes. As a Palestinian inhabitant of Jerusalem, she scanned in four pages of her passport, for example, in order to painfully enquire into her own identity.
