Open Call for MidEast Cut:
International Festival for alternative film and video
August 2008

This festival is an investigation of the cognitive, cultural and political 'space' of experimental short film, documentary and video from and about the Middle East, Iran and Turkey . The films must be of narrative character and deal with social documentation, interventional socio-political criticism and social activism in the region.

One video work per applicant may be submitted (PAL standard) on MiniDV AND on DVD, not exceeding one hour in length. Only works produced after 2005 are eligible and all non-English language submissions must be subtitled. Selected applicants will be notified in November 2008 by an international jury.
