For the first time, Art Dubai - the international fair of contemporary art - coincided with the Sharjah Biennial. As a follow up of our preview information, we are publishing this photo impressions of Art Dubai 2009. Abraaj Capital Art Prize
Established in 2008 to create a platform for individual artists who are revered in their local communities but lack international critical and commercial exposure. The Abraaj Capital Art Prize is the world’s largest art competition endowment, worth a total of US$1 million.

During Art Dubai 2009, there was the opening of the exhibition featuring the three winners of the 1st competition, selected out of almost 100 applications:

- Leyla Fakhr & Nazgol Ansarinia

Al Bastakiya Art Fair 2009

Now in its third year, Al Bastakiya Art Fair (BAF, formerly Creek Art Fair) will take place again in the houses of Bastakiya, the historic area of Dubai.
