8th Bamako Encounters - Call for Submissions
African Photography Biennial

The organizers of the 8th Bamako Encounters, which will take place from 7 November to 7 December 2009 in Bamako, Mali, call for submissions from photographers and video artists from the African continent, regardless of where they reside.

This year’s theme is Borders. "Perceived as territories of demarcation, enclosure or transit, they can just as well be places for transformation and exchange, territories - whether real or imaginary - of opening, opportunity or expansion."

Application deadline: 20 April 2009
