Artellewa Artist in Residence Program
Call for Applications
January 2010

In 2010, the Artellewa Art Space in Cairo offers a 2 to 3 months residency for 4 visual artists from the Arab region, North Africa, and Turkey. The program is sponsored by Arts Collaboratory (Netherlands).

The residency takes place at one of the most friendly and populated areas in Cairo called "Ard El-Lewa" where the Art Space is located. The artists will create their artworks based on their interaction with the people in the neighborhood (workers and artisans).

The residency will include a private work studio, living space, and a monthly stipend which covers meals and local transportation. Artellewa will also cover the costs of artists working materials, and will organize an exhibition for each artist at the Artellewa Gallery by the end of the residency.
