A.I.R. Dubai: Open Call
International Curator-in-Residence Programme
September 2011

Building on the success of last year’s pilot scheme, House 44, Artists-in-Residence Dubai (A.i.R. Dubai) has been established to provide opportunities for exchange, exposure and production for
international and Emirati cultural practitioners. Each year, the project aims to create a very distinctive addition to the activities of Art Dubai (March 21-24, 2012) and Art Week, including Sikka Art Fair in Al Bastakiya, the historic neighbourhood where the residencies take place.

A.i.R. Dubai’s partners – Art Dubai, Delfina Foundation, The Dubai Arts & Culture Authority, and Tashkeel – are delighted to announce a new international curator-in-residence opportunity next year, in collaboration with ArtAsiaPacific.

Applications are open to upcoming/mid-career curators interested in pursuing research, curatorial and critical writing opportunities in the Gulf. The recipient will be chosen by a jury including
representatives from the partner organisations, guest curator November Paynter (of SALT, Istanbul), and ArtAsiaPacific.

The dates of the residency in Dubai are 8 January to 7 April 2012.
