African Curator for the 9th Bamako Encounters

The 9th edition of the Bamako Encounters in Mali, to take place from 5 November to 5 December 2011 is under the artistic direction of Michket Krifa and Laura Sérani, with Samuel Sidibé as the executive officer.

For this forthcoming edition with the general theme "For a sustainable world”, Mali’s Ministry of Culture and l’Institut Français are seeking a curator who will have to propose and implement an exhibition project, which will be included in the Encounters' programming.

Applicants for this position (native and residing in an African country) are invited to propose an original exhibition project that will make the Bamako Biennial stand out internationally while placing it in a strongly local context and making it accessible and approachable by a broad audience.
