Shelters. Foothills of the Andes near Santiago. 2010
Installation
160 m2 The artist took down an abandoned mountain shelter near Santiago, and moved it to the city installing it at the hall of the National Museum of Fine Arts. From the rural peripheries, Preece carried the whole architecture and household equipment, even the grease of the pots and the soot of the walls. (...) This ephemeral ensemble enters into dialogue with the neoclassical architecture and museum's collection.
